AVVO, the lawyer website, has recognized New York legal malpractice lawyer Andrew Lavoott Bluestone as a superb lawyer since 2012. Legal Malpractice is the branch of litigation that addresses performance and representation of clients by attorneys. Because there are so many branches of law, and so many transactions and problems require the help of attorneys, legal malpractice is a wide-based area of law. Problems can arise in personal injury, in contracts, in business and commercial law, in patent law, in medical malpractice law, in real estate transactions and in corporate and partnership law. Legal malpractice can arise in any of these areas, and if a client is injured by mistakes of the attorney, legal malpractice litigation is sometimes the sole and last possible remedy.
During his 44 years of litigation experience Bluestone has handled underlying cases in legal malpractice, personal injury, medical malpractice, construction accidents, commercial litigation, patent law, matrimonial and libel and slander. He has handled cases all over New York State, and has been admitted pro hac vice in New Jersey, Florida and Connecticut. He is admitted to the New York Bar, to the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of US District Court, to the Second Circuit Bar and to the US Supreme Court. He has argued in all of the NYS Appellate Departments, in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and multiple times in the New York Court of Appeals.
He is an adjunct professor of Law at St. John’s University School of Law, teaching Legal Malpractice to law students. Besides his teaching credentials, his Board Certification* and his cases, Andrew Lavoott Bluestone is the author of 48 peer-reviewed scholarly articles on Legal Malpractice. He regularly contributes articles on Legal Malpractice to the New York Law Journal and has given more than 20 CLE lecture presentations to other attorneys. He can be seen on LawLine.com, as well as YouTube. As a New York legal malpractice lawyer, he reviews and publishes legal malpractice case decisions in the New York Attorney Malpractice Blog.
In his spare time, he pilots airplanes and helicopters.
He specializes in Legal Malpractice and Professional Responsibility cases. He is a Diplomate and Board Certified in Legal Malpractice by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys, recognized by the ABA and the Appellate Division.
